Quick-Start Guide for reviewers and approvers invited to a project

A quick-start guide to help you select, markup, review, and approve images

This is a suggested workflow for people who are entering a project to leave feedback and/or approve finals. It includes steps for inviting others to the project, adding images to the project if there aren't any already present, making selects, marking images up, reviewing revisions from your retoucher(s), making final approval, and downloading finals or FPOs.

A guide for retouchers can be found here

Instructions for creating a project are here.

📌 You're typically invited as an Reviewer in the project. Learn more about project roles and permissions here.

1. Accessing the Project

There are two ways you can be invited to a project: via email invite or via share link. Both are detailed below.

  • Email invite: Click the link in the email to create an account and log in. Following account creation, you will be dropped inside the project.

  • Share link: Enter your name and email when prompted (this identifies you when making comments).

2. Adding Images to a Project

If the project is empty, and you need to add images, drag and drop them into the empty project view.

Depending on your project role you can...

  • Reviewer role: Upload new assets (R0 only) -- if enabled by project owner or manager

  • Editor role: Upload and stack rounds. Requires a workspace member seat assigned by the account owner.

4. Making Selects

Apply labels like Select, Reject, or Hold, and rate or star assets directly, by:

  • Clicking "Add Label" on the image thumbnail to add any previously created labels by project owners, managers or editors. Or click on the the existing label to add multiple labels.

  • Use the star rating selector.

  • Or double-click an image to enter Markup View, where you can see the image larger, to apply labels or ratings. Use your right arrow key to advance to the next image.

  • In the project grid view, cmd (mac) or ctrl (PC) + click to select multiple image thumbnails to apply a label to.

Labels, once created within a project, will stay accessible throughout the project.

5. Leaving Notes + Markups

  • Enter Markup View: Double-click an image thumbnail

  • The brush tool is active automatically

  • Draw directly on the image, type your comment, and hit Enter

  • You can attach up to 3 reference files per comment (max 1 GB each)

  • You can @mention someone from the project to directly call their attention to a comment or question.

6. Tracking Rounds

  • When a retoucher uploads a new batch of images, they will automatically stack on the existing file images.

  • The round counter on the image thumbnail shows you the number of existing rounds, and the Round drop-down at the top of Markup View makes it easy to navigate to previous versions.

  • Toggle between current and previous rounds using the Before + After button

  • Use the Side-by-Side Comparison tool to view any previous round next to the current round, not just the immediately prior one.

  • Click "All Comments" at the top of the comment panel to review and audit feedback from previous rounds.

7. Approving Images

Approve one or many images:

  • Inside Markup View: Click the Approve button at the bottom-center

  • On Image Thumbnails: Select images > Click Approve at the bottom-center or right-click > Approve. To select images:

    • Click + drag across thumbnails

    • Or use Cmd/Ctrl + Click to select specific images

    • Or Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all

8. Downloading Files

  • You can download an entire project from the project grid view, if downloads are enabled for Reviewers on this project.

  • You can also download individual images from Markup View

Download options from inside Markup View:

  • For layout (FPO): choose Low-res JPG in the dropdown

  • For full resolution: choose Original in the dropdown
