What is a Workspace?

Updated over a week ago

When you begin in VeryBusy, you become the owner of a workspace. Workspaces contain any projects you create. Workspaces also house paid members (i.e., people who can create projects within VeryBusy). There are two roles these members can have.

People invited to collaborate in projects do not automatically become Workspace Members. Workspace members are people who can create projects under a paid subscription. People who have been invited to participate in a project only have access to projects to which they have been invited.

Roles

Owners

The Workspace Owner is the primary account holder and has the highest level of control over a workspace. The Workspace Owner will always start as the person who created the workspace but can be transferred to any other workspace member. Best for: anyone who needs to control the billing and membership of a workspace.

They can:

  • create projects or be a Project Manager

  • manage billing, seats/members, and storage

  • access any project on the workspace

  • delete any project on the workspace

Member

A Workspace Member is a paid user with full access to the workspace. They can create and manage projects, manage users, assets and collaborate within their assigned projects. Best for: team members who need to be able to create projects

They can:

  • create projects or be a Project Manager

  • create collaborator groups

  • create label groups

  • view all projects within the workspace to which they have been invited

They cannot:

  • manage billing

  • cancel a subscription

  • delete a workspace

Workspace Members vs. Project Collaborators

When you invite someone to collaborate in a project, they are not added to your workspace. Workspace membership is a special designation for people on your team who should have the ability to create and manage projects that count against your workspace storage.

  • Workspace members are paid users who can create and manage projects within your paid workspace.

  • Collaborators can only work on the specific projects to which they've been invited
