Our Reviewer Permissions settings gives Project Owners and Managers the power to decide whether Reviewers can download assets from a project and see previous rounds comments, making sure each collaborator has the right level of access & visibility they need.

Download Permissions (All Plans)

When enabling download permissions in a project, any user with a Reviewer role will be able to download assets, all rounds, folders and full project.

By disabling download permissions you can:

Protect Work-in-Progress: Keep early rounds or unapproved assets from being downloaded.
Control Final Deliverables: Allow downloads only when assets are ready to share.

Hide Comments Permissions (Team Plan Only)

When turning ON (enabling) Hide Comments in a project, any user with a Reviewer role won't be able to see past round comments.

  • Only current round comments will be visible.

  • Enabling these permissions will hide thumbnail notifications and related filters for unresolved comments and @ mentions for Reviewer roles.

Curate client view: Keep internal feedback and rough passes hidden when sharing the latest work.

Stay focused on current round: Reviewers see what’s relevant now, not every iteration that came before.

Same asset, simpler thread: Keep versioning clean without duplicating files for each round.

🔒 Hide Comment permission is available on Team Plans only.

Key Things to Know:

  • By default, Reviewers can download and see all rounds comments.

  • Editors can always download assets and see all rounds comment — to have in mind when deciding how to share projects and who to assign as Editor vs. Reviewer.

    • Use Reviewers for clients or external stakeholders, you need more control over asset download and comment visibility

    • Use Editors when collaboration involves hands-on work or asset management. Like retouchers.

Who Can Manage Permissions?

Only Project Owners and Managers can enable or disable permissions for Reviewers.

How to Manage Reviewer Permissions

Option 1: From the Share Modal

  1. Click the “Share Project” button in the project (top right).

  2. At the bottom click on “Manage Download Permissions”.

Option 2: From Project Settings

  1. Click the 3-dot menu next to the Share button.

  2. Select “Project Settings”.

  3. Go to the Permissions tab.

How the Setting Works

  • Permissions ON (by default) on each project.

  • Toggle OFF to restrict Reviewers from downloading assets and/or see past rounds comments while still allowing them to view, comment, and approve.

By managing reviewer permissions, you can safeguard your assets, deliver work with confidence, and ensure clients or external collaborators have just the right access they need.
