Making and Managing Comments and Markups in Markup View

Clicking on an image thumbnail inside a project will take you into Markup View. This is where instructions for retouching are created, shared, and tracked.

Making Comments and Markups

  1. Select the brush icon located at the bottom of the comment panel

  2. When you hover over the image, your cursor will change to a circle.

  3. Click and draw on the image to call attention to specific parts of the image.

  4. Once you’ve made your markups, type the instructions in the comment box.

❗️Note: you can leave only a comment; however, you cannot leave a markup without a comment.

Resolving, Replying To, and Deleting Comments

  • Mark a comment as resolved: hover over the comment and click the circle that appears at the top-right.

  • Reply to a comment: hover over the comment and click reply on any comment to reply in-line to questions that come up during the retouching process.

  • Edit or delete a comment: hover and click the three dots that appear. Note: you can only delete comments you have made; you cannot delete others’ comments. Deleting a comment will delete the corresponding markup.

To view resolved markups, set the dropdown menu at the top of the panel to "All Comments". Any comments that aren't resolved will carry over to the next round.

Note: markups that have already been saved to the image cannot be edited. To make a change, delete the comment and start fresh. Additionally, comments and markups from previous rounds cannot be edited or deleted.

Direct Mentions

To direct-mention a collaborator on a comment, type @, followed by the collaborator’s name. That person will receive a notification in-app and via email that you have mentioned them in your comment.

Seen By

See who has viewed comments that have been made by hovering over the words “Seen by”, located at the bottom of each comment. Collaborators who have seen the comment will be listed upon hovering.

Zooming and Panning

The zoom controls, located at the bottom-right of your screen, help you see fine detail in the image. You can also quickly zoom with the scroll wheel on your mouse.

To pan around the image when zoomed in, hold down space bar.
