Internal Comments let your team discuss feedback notes privately, completely invisible to clients, leadership, and external reviewers. Only workspace members have full internal commenting permissions.
Same asset, only source of truth: no more duplicating assets or spinning up a second project just to separate internal notes from client-facing review.

Leaving an Internal comment
Toggle "Internal" in the comment composer before submitting.
Internal comments are only visible to workspace members. There's an internal workspace icon next to each sender's name, and has a different background color indicator for easy visual identification.
Who can send and see them
Anyone currently holding an active paid seat in your workspace. The workspace owner, any workspace manager and workspace editor can see and leave internal comments.

Replies inherit the thread's visibility
If the first comment in a thread is Internal, every reply is Internal too, replies don't get their own toggle.
Switch comment visibility
The comment's author can convert the whole thread between Internal and External at any time via the three-dot menu.
Comment Counts and activity
Teammates with a seat see the total unresolved comment count (Internal + External combined) in the asset thumbnails. Everyone else sees only the External count, it just reflects what they're allowed to see. Thumbnails and list views look identical either way, only the number differs.
Filtering in the Comment Panel
An "Internal comments only" filter is available in the comments dropdown, visible only to teammates with a seat.
Rounds
Internal comments stay tied to the round they were posted on, same as any other comment. Uploading a new round doesn't change an existing Internal comment's visibility.
@mentions
When composing an Internal comment, only teammates with a seat appear as mention suggestions.
Exporting to PSD
When a teammate with a seat exports markups to PSD, Internal comments are included with "Internal" appended to the layer name so it's clear which notes were private.
If someone's seat lapses
Their past Internal comments stay visible to the rest of the team, they just lose the ability to post new ones, and see the standard "needs a workspace seat" prompt if they try.
Migration
All comments that existed before Aug 3, 2026 will default to External, nothing changes for them automatically. You can convert an existing comment to Internal at any time.
